Biathlon British Columbia congratulates Julia Ransom, Megan Tandy, Emma Lunder and Sarah Beaudry on being named to the Canadian Olympic Biathlon Team.
“These four biathletes started their incredible biathlon journey in BC. They master their biathlon skills through years of training and competitions including the BC Winter Games and the Canada Winter Games. It is the pinnacle of sport achievement to be selected to represent Canada,” said Tony Tsang, President of Biathlon BC. He continued, “Biathlon in British Columbia is highly competitive. Our 13 biathlon clubs and cadet programmes thrive in regional, provincial, and national competitions. Athletes progress from the age of nine and up, developing the cross
country skiing and marksmanship skills to become biathlon challengers. British Columbia has a strong presence in the Canadian National Team. All four biathletes are products of this powerful BC engine. Thank you for the excellent programmes run at the the 13 member clubs and in particular the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club in Prince George, Telemark Nordic Club in West Kelowna and Sovereign Lake Nordic Ski Club in Vernon.”
President Tsang added, “These four amazing biathletes have worked hard and had strong support from their families, sponsors and Biathlon BC to get them to where they are. BC is very proud to have these biathletes and I congratulate them on their achievements. On behalf of Biathlon BC, I wish them and the Canadian National Team all the best at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games.”
