The schedule for Biathlon BC Cups has been set for the 2016-2017 season and, for the first time in a long time, it is very exciting to have a BC Cup in each of the regions of the province. Thank you to the four clubs who have stepped up to host these events. They are:

December 17-18, 2016 Kelowna – Telemark Biathlon
January 14-15, 2017 Quesnel – Cariboo Ski Touring Club
January 28-29, 2017 Whistler – Whistler Biathlon Society
February 11-12, 2017 Burns Lake – Omineca Ski Club

At this time, Biathlon BC (“BiBC”) invites applications for the role of Technical Delegate (“TD”) for each of the 4 BC Cups for the 2016-2017 competition season. It is the responsibility of BiBC to assign TD’s to each BC Cup. The assigned TD will be the agent of BiBC who will administer and interpret the BiBC Hosting Policy for the event. The TD must work closely with the OC and competition committee on all aspects of the event after the naming of the TD.

For the 2016-2017 season, BiBC will be welcoming applications for the TD position at all 4 BC Cups. The TD must be a Biathlon Canada Leader (“Leader”), a TD or an IBU International Referee (“IR”). To help develop officials in the province, any Leaders or IRs who are assigned the role of TD at a BC Cup will be provided with a qualified TD to mentor them. If you are a qualified TD and would like to mentor a Leader or IR, please submit your application as well.

Please submit your application via e-mail to Sally Connon, BIBC VP Administration by September 25th. Please provide the following in your submission:

  • Name and contact information
  • Which BC Cups are you able to travel to?
  • Your Biathlon Canada and/or IBU officials qualifications
  • A brief history of your officiating experience
  • A summary of how the TD role at a BC Cup will fit into your development plan as an official
