What is happening?
Construction on the Coastal GasLink LNG pipeline is expected to begin in January and a work camp that will accommodate workers is currently being built south of Burns Lake. As the camp is not yet operational, a large number of rooms have been blocked by the gas industry at preferred accommodations.
What does this mean?
This means that for the moment, attempts to reserve rooms for February 7-9, 2020 will likely be unsuccessful.
What is being done to ensure accommodations are available for BC Cup #3?
We are currently blocking all available rooms at all accommodations. As of now, we have secured a dozen rooms and are hoping to double that within the next few days.
Competition officials are being billeted with the Hamp’s. Two rooms are available on a first come/first serve basis with the Bernard/Bender’s. We are also looking at other billeting options.
So, will there be places to stay for BC Cup #3?
We sure are counting on that and so should you!
Over the next two weeks, we will be continuing to work with accommodation providers. Look for an update in early December.
We are looking forward to host BC Cup #3 and to see you at the Omineca Ski Club!
