Biathlon BC is initiating an Official’s Mentorship Program. The Objective of this program is to provide experienced mentors for officials desiring help to deliver an effective, safe and fair biathlon competition for their clubs.

Examples of areas that mentors can provide guidance on include:

  • Event Planning
  • Use of Biathlon in a Box, Zone4 or other timing software
  • Any Chief Role (Competition, Range, Stadium, Course, Timing, Secretary)
  • Setting up the Venue

Mentors may be requested both prior to the event (e.g. planning), or during the event.

The club of the official requesting the mentor may be asked to help defray any travel and accommodation costs for the mentor.

Mentors will be selected from a pool of experienced officials that have volunteered for this role. All efforts will be made to match up the most appropriate mentor for the specific task and club. The selection of the mentor may be a joint effort between the ODC and the Club requesting the mentor.

If you or your club are interested in having a mentor to assist with an event this season, please complete this request form HERE

Please submit requests no later than October 31, 2020

After a request for a mentor is received, a representative of Biathlon BC will get in touch with the applicant to start the process of finding an available mentor.

If there are any further questions, please feel free to reach out to office@biathlon.bc.ca
