Biathlon BC – Now Hiring: Canada Winter Games Female Coach

(2027 Canada Winter Games)

Biathlon BC is seeking an energetic, organized, and highly qualified Canada Winter Games Female Coach to lead Team BC at the 2027 Canada Winter Games and to act as Head Coach to all Biathlon BC Development Team training camps over the 2026-27 season leading up to the event.

Important: this position is for female applicants only due to the gender specific requirements of Coaching at Canada Winter Games.

This is a unique opportunity to shape BC’s developing athletes and guide our athletes through a multi-sport Games experience, while supporting a thriving provincial development pathway.

Canada Winter Games Coach

  • Coach Team BC at the 2027 Canada Winter Games.
  • Support athlete selection, preparation, and performance planning.
  • Work collaboratively with Biathlon BC staff and the wider coaching community.
  • Guide our athletes through a high-quality, athlete-centered multi-sport Games experience.

Head Coach – Development Squad Camps (2026 Season)

The successful applicant will serve as Head Coach for all Development Squad training camps:

2026 Development Squad Camp Schedule (*subject to change)

  • May 2026 – Development Squad (location TBD)
  • July 2026 – Development Squad, Prince George
     • Joint camp with Biathlon Alberta Shooting Stars
  • August 2026 – Development Squad, (location TBD)
  • November 2026 – Development Squad, Vernon

Program Planning & Leadership

  • Contribute to Canada Winter Games planning, camp design, seasonal preparation, athlete development frameworks, and staff coordination.
  • Help ensure an aligned pathway from Clubs → Development Squad → Canada Games.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must hold the following NCCP certifications/courses:

  • Competition Development Certified Coach (fully certified by December 1, 2026)
  • NCCP Make Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation (MED)
  • NCCP Safe Sport Training
  • NCCP Understanding the Rule of Two

The coach must be available for the full week at Canada Winter Games (approx. 8-10 days) and all four Development Team camps. (approx. 22-25 camp days + 5-10 planning days)

Experience working with developing and high-performance youth athletes is a strong asset.

This is a contract position and will report to the General Manager. Pay will be in line with Biathlon BC’s contract coach pay scale.
